At IEEE Quantum Week, New Mexico governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Rob Black along with DARPA program manager Joseph Altepeter announced the Quantum Frontier Project, a new partnership designed to accelerate quantum technologies, with contributions totalling up to $240 million.
The governor and director kicked off IEEE Quantum Week with IEEE President Kathleen Kramer, Zachary Yerushalmi of Elevate Quantum, and a panel discussion moderated by Alex Greenberg, Economic Development Advisor in the Office of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
From the main stage, these quantum ecosystem leaders covered bringing quantum computing to market through public-private partnerships and the thriving ecosystem driving quantum computing innovation in New Mexico:

At the IEEE Entrepreneurship Quantum Venture Summit, Dr. Ramirez will give a talk about “Investing in the Quantum Ecosystem” including Playground investments in quantum computing company PsiQuantum, quantum algorithms company Phasecraft (that today announced its $34M Series B), and quantum sensing companies Ideon Technologies and NVision Imaging Technologies.
With support from the New Mexico State Investment Counsel, Playground will be investing $50 million in early-stage companies contributing to the next-generation computing ecosystem in New Mexico.
